João Miranda

I am currently studying for a MA in Philosophy at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL), where I previously obtained my BA in Philosophy, with a final dissertation on epistemic justification. I am mainly interested in debates in Epistemology and Philosophy of Science. In Epistemology, I’m especially interested in issues concerning epistemic rationality (epistemic normativity, epistemic justification, epistemic akrasia, etc), whereas in the Philosophy of Science, I’m drawn to the debate concerning the interpretation of the probability calculus, and the metaphysical, methodological and normative consequences of these interpretations. Apart from my main research areas, I am also interested in certain topics in Metaphysics, Philosophy of Art and Philosophy of Logic.
