Lorenzo Baravalle is interested in the attempts to generalise evolutionary theory to non-strictly biological domains, such as culture, computation, and epistemology. He has published on topics related to the theoretical structure of evolutionary theory and evolutionary explanations. He obtained a PhD in philosophy from the University of Barcelona and the University Rovira i Virgili (Spain) in 2010, and he is currently a faculty member in the Department of History and Philosophy of Sciences of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and in the Centre of Natural and Human Science of the Federal University of ABC (UFABC – Brazil).
