Licentiate degree in Music at the State University of Londrina (UEL); MA in Philosophy at the State University of São Paulo (UNESP); PhD in Philosophy of Science, with specialization in Philosophy of Technology, at the CFCUL. Vinícius de Aguiar is a postdoctoral researcher at the CFCUL working in the intersection between philosophy and musicology. His PhD thesis developed the concept of musical diagram in composition and listening based on C. S. Peirce’s phenomenological semiotics. His current research project is about cognitive and epistemological issues of music recommender systems. More generally, he is interested in how data sciences and AI are transforming fundamental categories of music aesthetics and the societal implications of those changes. Vinicius is also interested in investigating new possibilities of approaching music aesthetics using methods such those employed in recommender systems.
