For centuries, the mind-body problem (i.e. how mental states are connected to physical states in the brain) has fascinated philosophers and scientists alike.
In this talk I will argue that the deep split between mind and body permeates still current implementations of artificial systems.
I will suggest that one potentially fruitful way to move forward in building artificial agents is to take embodiment in relation to the social and physical environment seriously.
