Resumo:

In this talk I address an aspect of the applicability problem that has not been explored yet. I focus on some successful applications of physics in mathematics and I maintain that there exists a cluster of successful applications of physics in mathematics. Applications in this cluster, I claim, essentially depend on the successful application of conservation laws. In the conclusive part of my talk I also sketch some strategies that can be endorsed to address the issue of how conservation laws are applied with success in mathematics.
